Thunderkick’s Luchadora slot is a hit game (literally) themed on the larger than life world of Mexican wrestling, where you’ll be immersed in the world of flamboyant masked characters all vying to win a slam down in the canvas ring. Trust Thunderkick to come up with a left field slot them. Big hairy guys in ill fitting wrestling leotards? Vamos!

I am pretty sure I have met a few of these big Mexican fellas on my various missions.

It’s always a good way of testing the brains over brawn theory 😉

The Basics

Well, it’s a fine looking slot game isn’t it, I’d say it’s even brighter than the Turning Totems slot and that’s not easy. It might even top the Spinata Grande slot on the colour wheel, but that’s Thunderkick for you.

The Luchadora slot comes with two bonus games in the form of the Lucha Smackdown and the Lucha Bonus as well which offer x15 your wager wins and 15 free spins that can be re-triggered. So plenty of features as well as the looks then.

The Graphics

The background to the reels is a bird’s eye view of the wrestling mat, covered in posters and celebratory ticker tape. The reels are a simple frame with each of the four corners positions marked out with a golden frame, which relates to the bonus features.

This slot’s party sound track involves megaphone announcements of the fighter’s activities on the reels. We’re off to Mexico with some hip shaking rhythms, drum beats, trumpet blasts and cheering crowds- this game will have you ready to fiesta- my tail was swishing along in time to the reels spinning.

Luchadora Game Play

This mano a mano wrestling extravaganza is played out over four rows, five reels and 30 pay-lines. These Mexican chaps look like they could even take on that moody Viking lady in the Valhalla slot machine, but it would still be a coin toss who’d win.

The awe inspiring wrestlers of the slot are a masked quartet of costumed super men who certainly don’t look like they’ll be using the Marquess of Queensberry Rules! Nice pants, sirs!

El Toro, the Bull, wears a pink mask and horns and is the most valuable symbol, followed by El Rayo, the Flash, in bright yellow, then El Serpiente, the Snake, in green and lastly El Pantera, the Panther, in a blue mask and cape. Very fetching! Watch out though, there is another imposter wrestler lurking somewhere on the reels in the form of the Misterioso Campeon.

The lower value icons are a collection of Mexican items that will blow off the taste buds- a series of four different chili peppers. Ouch!

There is also a duo of extra symbols that are rather rewarding in the mix. There is a bell icon which signifies the Luca Smackdown bonus which only occurs on reel 5. Alongside this is a wrestling belt Scatter: the Luca Bonus icon which only smacks down on reel 3.

The Bonuses

The Ring Corner feature is an intriguing treat for you. If you recall, there are four golden corner holders at the corners of the reels. If you lure a wrestler into these they become Wild to help make bigger wins for you. If a wrestler has already landed on this corner it has already been claimed and can’t be reclaimed in the base game.

Landing the Lucha Smackdown icon on the last reel gives you a reward. This prize is either free spins to the value of between 7 and a remarkable 15, or a neatly symmetrical x15 your wager reward.

The Lucha Free Spins Bonus comes into play if you can smack down a trio of Lucha Bonus icon anywhere on your reels: this will earn you up to 15 free spins for five symbols. And something rather special can happen during this mode. Vamos a ver.

Landing the Lucha Smackdown icon on reel five in the feature gives you further free spins that can be as few as 2 or as many as 7 or a multiplier of up to a considerable 15 x could be in the mix for you.

If you land a wrestler in the special golden corners of the reels during this mode, that icon becomes a sticky Wild for the remaining free spin and better still, any other occurrences of that icon become Wild as well. Que bueno!

Monkey Verdict

As I mentioned, I reckon I’ve taken on a few of these bad hombres myself on my travels in South America, and Thunderkick have produced a visual treat that is bang on and which comes fully loaded with bonuses and features.

If you can turn all the wrestlers Wild, those spins could bring a reward of up to x 2,000 your wager- not too shabby! A mi, me gusta. Mucho.
