The Graphics
Hot as Hades ranks high among those slots that have a little extra in the looks department. Not only does this game look good enough to be on the silver screen but it comes with some quirky animations to immerse you in the fun!
The reels are set against fiery lava pools in an underworld cave: it’s dramatic stuff and the background music feels like a film score with orchestral effects laying on the drama.
The Play
Hot as Hades is a five row and three reel slot with 20 pay-lines.
The high value icons are the top dog, the grinning Hades with his flaming hair job, followed by the white-bearded Zeus, the blue trident wielding Poseidon, the green snaky Medusa and the three headed hell hound Cerberus.
The Wild is the Hot as Hades fiery logo and this substitutes for all icons except the Scatter, which is a horned crystal animal skull.
The Bonuses
Super Mode Free Spins is the first of two explosive bonus treats that are in store for you. This is a base game feature which you will hopefully randomly trigger.
You will have five free spins, and they are heated up with three or more sticky Wilds that will load onto the reels to help you make up winning combos. Quest for the Crystal Helm
The big feature in this game is more of a quest (I call them missions myself). You are now the flame haired Hades of the game’s title and you need to journey through five different levels of picking games which involve getting past the snake haired Medusa, god of the sea Poseidon, and the king of the ancient gods; Zeus. And all that just to get your hands on the heavily guarded Crystal Helm!
– In the first level, the Pillars of Awesomeness, you need to pick items from jars to win cash prizes and hopefully make it to level 2.
– Level 2 is the Medusa’s Gaze (creepy) where you pick a route and hopefully win prizes on your journey to level 3.
– Level 3 is where you’ll enter Poseidon’s watery lair: pick from shells to win prizes but watch out, as there are two different ways to crash out here by picking dud shells.
– In Level 4 you’ll ascend to the heavens– this is Zeus’ realm. Pick clouds and try and make a pretty penny, but again, try to avoid the two duds that will end the feature.
– Level 5 is the Chamber of the Crystal Skull where you pick a chest to win.
Monkey Verdict
The Hot as Hades slot is a whole new spin on ancient Greek themed games with its sense of fun and a snappy look (I love the flaming hair). Microgaming has come up trumps with the Super Mode Free Spins feature in the base game and then there’s the epic picking bonus game. I love a few levels to climb.
This is a game that looks like a Greek God and it’s highly entertaining. We give it a big opposable thumbs up, this game is hot!
