Thunderstruck II

This is the second game in the Thunderstruck series from Games Global (formerly Microgaming ). The first is the classic Thunderstuck slot from Microgaming, and more recently there’s Thunderstruck Wild Lightning and Thunderstruck Stormchaser slot, both from Stormcraft Studios in partnership with Games Global.  Thunderstruck 2 slot is one of those classics that sits beside the likes of the Ted slot machine and Immortal Romance.

The Graphics

The reels are encased in an elaborate Nordic metal design and the pumped up gods of the Nordic pantheon crowd the reels.

The music is cinematic in its grand scale and orchestral drama, a super accompaniment to this heaven-sent reel drama. This game might not be the newest in town, but it still holds its own against newer games like the Amazing Links Poseidon slot from SpinPlay Games.

Thunderstruck II Slot Game Play

Thunderstruck II slot has 243 Ways to Win across  5 reels and 3 rows.

The famed god Thor (the one with the giant war hammer otherwise known as Mjolnir) is the top symbol on the reels offering 16.67x your wager or 500 coins if you land five of him on an active pay-line.

The other deities jostling for position on the reels include Odin, the god of poetry and death, (what a heady cocktail), Loki (the naughty one) and the Valkyries (the spirits who delivered the dead warriors to Valhalla, the feasting hall of fallen heroes), plus a rainbow festooned Valhalla, and a mighty Viking long boat under sail.

The card decks Ace through 9 are the lower value icons. While the Wild is the game’s logo and where it is part of your win, it doubles its value. The Wild substitutes for all icons, except, the Scatter which is Thor’s War hammer.

The Bonuses

The Wildstorm feature is activated at random and keeps the game entertaining. When triggered, up to five reels can transform, turning totally Wild.  You can win up to 8100x your bet on each of the spins in the Wildstorm feature.

But the big feature on the Thunderstruck II slot is the Great Hall Spins. There are four different levels of Free Spin with Wilds benefits. The number of times you enter the feature dictates which of the four different god’s games you will play. After 15 entries you get to choose which feature to pursue. You are all powerful, at this point, so to speak.

The Valkyrie is more than a pneumatic breast plate wearing goddess, she’s here to give you 10 free games with an eminently welcome x 5 multiplier.

Loki’s feature will open up after you have unlocked the feature for the fifth time and you’ll get 15 Free Spins. There’s a Wild Magic icon that can crop up on the middle reel and transform other icons into Wilds. And land Scatters for up to five extra spins.

The tenth entry into the Great Hall will award you with the Odin feature which has 20 Free Spins and a pair of magical ravens. Here Odin’s birds will alight on the reels, delivering x2 or x3 multipliers to the reel positions where they land. This one is very easy on the eyes!

After your 15th visit to this hallowed spot, you will land Thor’s feature with 25 Free Spins. Make consecutive wins  in this feature and earn up to x5 multiplier to add to your Viking hoard.

Monkey Verdict

As one would expect from a sequel of this pedigree, the Thunderstruck II slot is a game that offers a first rate gaming experience and a medium variance game with some big wins to unlock, especially if you land on the Hall of Spins feature.
