The Graphics
All the reel action is played out on a hexagonal grid made up of three neon-edged Rings, with the Vortex in its centre. Meanwhile the background to these extraterrestrial reels is deep space with a dark blue and purple nebula twinkling as you play.
The space-age soundtrack is an ethereal jingle that sounds a bit like Gregorian monks chanting. However this speeds up as the wins start to come in and a hypnotic drum beat is added into the mix.

Diamond Vortex Slot Game Play
Diamond Vortex slot has 7 reel and 7 row grid. There are no pay-lines here, but instead the game creates wins using cluster pays of 6 symbols or more. Your intergalactic bets start from 0.20 and go up to 100 Cosmos Credits. You could say that this fruity is on warp speed compared to the Stellar Ways slot and other spacey games.
Clusters can run in multiple directions, but each symbol must be touching each other. Remember last year’s Honey Rush slot also from Play’n GO? Well the layout is very similar.
Space Crystals
The reel grid is filled with space crystals and there are 9 in total. The low paying symbols include yellow, blue, green and red shaped stones, while the more lucrative icons are raw cut gem asteroids in various hues. The highest paying of which is the ruby red asteroid, which pays up to 100x for an entire cluster grid full.
There are 2x kinds of Wilds in play in Diamond Vortex – Sticky or Core. The Core wilds will live permanently in the centre of the grid substituting for wins, while sticky wilds are added during any interplanetary cascade drop.
The Bonus planet symbol is your scatter and will trigger off the Free Spins.
Cascading Reels
After any cluster win, the icons will disappear from the grid, and the rings will move clockwise. The middle one will now move in the opposite direction producing new symbols and giving you the chance to make even more clusters! This is called the Rotate feature – and it’s a delightful way to generate more wins.
The Bonuses
In the base game there are 3 different features that can be set off. And here they are:
Transform
Each ring on the grid contains a Spot and a Zone. Zones are fixed at the very top of each ring, while Spots start at the bottom and rotate on every winning cascade drop until they reach a Zone. When the 2 meet,
all symbols on that ring will transform into the same matching symbol – which can lead to some very large wins indeed.
Consume
If a Sticky Wilds land on top of the Core Wild as the ring rotates, then this cool feature is activated. Next, a win multiplier will increase by x1 for each Sticky Wild you land going all the way up to x20!
On each new base game spin, the multiplier will reset to x1.
Free Spins
Land a bonus icon inside one of the zones and you’ll set off the Free Spins feature. Now you’ll be awarded 5 free spins for each bonus symbol in the Zone, and there are 15 in total up for grabs.
During Free Spins the Core Wild will not reset between spins – meaning mega multipliers. Plus the Spots won’t return to their original position between spins either. These two things combined can lead you to bigger wins and even more transformations!
Best all of? You can re-trigger Free Spins by landing a Bonus symbol in a Zone once more during the feature.
